Arterial Doppler
The arterial doppler uses ultrasound to produce images on a monitor for the purpose of evaluating the arterial blood flow to the arms and legs. Other non invasive physiological measurements are made to determine adequacy of blood flow in the lower extremities including blood pressure measurements and pulse volume recording.
Carotid Doppler
The carotid arteries which are located in the neck, supply blood to the brain. This is a procedure that uses ultrasound to look for plaques, blood clots, or other problems with blood flow in the carotid artery blood flow, walls and lumen (interior) to determine a patient’s stroke risk.
Venous Doppler
This is a complete ultrasound exam to assess for deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or blood clots, in addition to other conditions like superficial thrombophlebitis (inflammation of the superficial veins), and venous insufficiency.
